This session has always been special to me. It was the first time the two of us had worked together but I immediately knew I didn’t want it to be the last. We’ve done several sessions since but the first holds a special place. I really couldn’t nail down what it was about the session that was so special until I chose it for part of my “re-imagined” series. There’s a story here, not quite sure what it is, that I missed by doing what I normally do… picking 5 or 6 images and making them into “art”. I have more of an emotional connection to the images as a set, it brings back memories of the shoot and overall it makes each image feel more compelling. Aside from doing a colour treatment, I’m staying away from overly complex retouching and processing. I spent about 40 minutes all-in on this new version and likely spent a day on the previous versions.
